Josh's family is Chinese, but after rejecting his past and race, he claimed that he is actually American.
He lives in Tasmania, Australia, on a small farm. However, all of his internet profiles,
including Edward Milton on chess.com, Polly Milton on Facebook, and others, are apparently located in Texas.
He also claims that, although America is a terrible place, Texas is not the same. Claiming to 'love the people'
Josh makes a bit of a fool of himself, when he has to admit that he doesn't know anyone from Texas.
His friend Kate South found out this, when she was looking in his photos on his phone,
and found a lot of pictures that Kate supposed Josh thought looked great.

As well as drawing guns, Josh has been known to cuddle guns, and, most shockingly, to kiss them.
He also has a number of pistols that he hides under his pillow, supposedly just in case someone attacks him in the night.
The most likely person that might attack him in the night is his friend Kate, but it would be a mental attack, so certainly not deserving of a bullet.
For Josh, chess is more than a game. This is the case for many people, but for him it doesn't matter if he wins or loses...
he will still act as if his life depends on it...like the game was a life and death experience for him. Dr Freya Banaszkiewicz
managed to capture a picture of Josh after a night of chess losses, and caused some sad laughter from caring friends of Josh,
and a little mockery from the cruel element of Capercaillie's denizens.
